So, the kitchen remodel has been ongoing for four weeks now with no end in sight. Yes, we had more delays this week, but we still made progress.
The drywall is hung, and the finishing has commenced. The dishwasher is ordered, the pendant light was purchased, and the measurements and configuration for the windows have been confirmed, so they will be ordered and ready for installation in ten days or so. A tentative paint color has been selected, but before finalizing the choice, we need to see how it looks with samples from the floor tile and cabinets.
All in all, not a bad week, but the delays are frustrating. I think we are still looking at another four weeks, at the very least.
Wow, eight weeks seems a long time to get the job finished, I am dreaming of a kitchen remodel someday 🙂
Yes, it’s a very long time. The job was supposed to be started in early March and take 2-3 weeks, but it didn’t get under way until late June, and there have been far too many days when absolutely nothing has been done. Our previous kitchen remodel was really more of an update and took a grand total of 6 days (8 if you count the weekend), but this is a much bigger job. Still, we should be farther along than we are, even considering that one day was spent doing plumbing work that wasn’t actually part of the remodel. There have been at least 8 weekdays on which nothing was done, and that is really frustrating. The worst part is that the kitchen is holding up other work that we want to get done so that we can finally unpack everything and get settled in. We moved in 7 months ago and really expected to have the kitchen done and the floors refinished before summer. Now we are hoping to have it all done before winter. 😦
Wow, I hope it gets done before winter! Where do you cook?
Mostly we eat out or get delivery. LOL I have the microwave and Foreman grill set up in the dining room, and we’ve been eating a lot of hamburgers and hot dogs.
